NEW FLORAL GUIDE-SPRING, 1900. 49 RosemawrSet JfeJ'T^- . Kosemawr The Bonniest Blossoms of the Bunch. ROSBMAWR, the most showy and Handsome of all Pink Cannas, (C & J., '98)—We ask particular attention to this new variety, which is undoubtedly one of the most showy and handsome of all the Pink Cannas. Its enormous masses of flowers and exquisite color attract immediate attention. The flowers are extra large, having broad,, well rounded petals, frequently two inches across. The color is bright, rosy pink, elegantly mottled with rose, shaded rich golden-yellow at throat. The trusses are immense and borne just the right distance above the foliage to show to best advantage. The flowers are very durable and retain their bright, handsome color through all kinds of weather. The plant makes a vigorous, handsome growth, averages about 3 feet in height, and is an early and contitmous bloomer. We recommend it as one of our very best kinds, both for bedding and house culture. Your collection will not be complete without this beautiful Rosemawr Canna. Price: Dormant roots, 20 cts. each; potted plants, 25 cts. each, postpaid. NEW CRIMSON CANNA, DUKE OF MARYBOROUGH, (C & J., >98)—Dark, rich, velvety maroon, almost black; fine, shapely flowers in well balanced trusses. A vigorous grower and early and abundant bloomer. NEW WHITE CANNA, ALSACE — Originated by our Mr. Antoine Wintzer, in 1896, and still remains the nearest approach to a Pure White Canna, and the finest of its color to date. The flowers are at first, light sulphur yellow, soon changing to rich creamy white. It makes nice, shapely plants, three to four feet high, and bears large trusses of creamy white flowers all through the season. Alsace is indispensable for bedding in masses and borders with other kinds. Alsace is specially recommended for bedding with other and brighter colors, as for instance, a bed with Pillar of Fire for centre, Alsace next, and the outer row of Queen Charlotte makes a very handsome combination, as the plants grow to a proportionate height, and the colors contrast finely and show to best advantage. Dormant roots, 15 cts. each; potted plants, 20 cts. each, postpaid. CALIFORNIA [Klondike] (C. & I., '98)—Pure Orange gold, a very rare and handsome shade, and one of the finest of this color.
