IENRTADREER 4>HILADELPHIA-PA WW HARDY CLIMBING PLANTS ACTINIDIA ARGUTA. A desirable Japanese climber of strong, vigorous growth, with dark-green, shin ing foliage and white flowers with purple centres, which are followed by clusters - of edible fruit. An excellent plant for covering arbors, trellises, etc., where a rapid " and dense growth is elesired. Strong plants, 35 cts. each ; $3.50 per doz. AKEBIA QUINATA (Akeua vine). One of the most graceful of our hardy climbers, with deep green, small foliage, and producing in early spring numberless bunches of violet-brown flowers which have a pleasant cinnamon odor; most desirable for positions where a dense shade- is not recpiired. Strong plants, 25 cts. each ; S2 50 per doz.; $15.00 per 100. AMPELOPSIS VEITCHI (Ho„ton Ivy. or Japan Ivy) The most popular and desirable climbing plant for covering brick, stone or wooden walls, trees, etc. After it becomes established at ihe root it is of very rapid growth, and clings to the smoothest surface with the tenacity of ivy ; the foliage is of a rich olive-green during the summer, changing to various shades of bronze, crimson and scarlet in the fall. A beautiful and desirable climber, with fine dark green foliage, wonderfully vatie- gated wilh white and pink ; during the late summer and fall the plant is liberally covered wilh attractive smill berries of a peculiar lustrous metallic peacock-blue color; highly useful for trailing over rocks or for a low trellis. This well-known climber is one of the best for covering trees, trellises, arbors, etc. ; its large deep green foliage assumes brilliant shades of yellow, crimson and scarlet in the fali. A variety of the Virginia Creepei with foliage of a glossy light green in summer, changing to brilliant crimson in the autumn. 35 cts. each; $3 50 per do/. APIOS TUBEROSA. Ami-ki.oivsis Ticico).ok. A valuable hardy tuberous-rooted climber, resembling in miniature the common Wistaria in vine and foliage, and having clusters of rich deep purple flowers, which have a strong, delicious violet fragrance. They grow to a height of 8 to 10 feet, and bloom profusely. I'lant 2 or 3 bulbs near together to produce a mass of vines and floweis. 5 cts. each ; 50 cts. per doz. ARISTOLOCHIA SIPHO (Watchman's Pipe Tine). A vigorous and rapid-growing climber, bearing singular brownish- Ampei.opsis ViiiTctu. colored flowers, resembling in shape a pipe. Its floweis, however, are of little value compared to its fine light-green leaves, which are of very large size, and retain their color from early spring to lale fali; perfectly hardy. Extra strong plants, 50 Cts. each ; $5 00 per doz. BIGNONIA (Trumpet Creeper). For covering unsightly places, stumps, rock-work, or wherever a showy-flowering vine is desired, the Bignonias will be found very useful. The flowers are large, atlractive and borne profusely when the plant attains a fair size. Grandiflora. Large-flowers of orange red. 50 cts. each ; $5.00 per doz. Radlcans. Dark ted, orange throat; free-blooming and very hardy. 25 cts. each ; $2 50 per doz. CELASTRUS SCANDENS (I»«»er Sweet, or Wax Work). CINNAMON VINE (I>i»scorea Batatas). A rapid-growing climber, taking its name from the peculiar fragrance of the delicate white flowers. Radlcans Varlegata (Variegated Creeping Euonrmus).
