Howard's Star Petunia.
This is the most distinct and
desirable Petunia for everybody
to raise that was ever offered.
Flowers large, 2\ inches in diameter, and the most prolific bloomer I ever saw. The body color
is a dark, rich, velvety maroon,
which, when held up so that the
light strikes across it at a certain angle, assumes an emerald
green sheen, a very peculiar
transformation. Starting deep
within the throat are the five
rays of a star, of a pinkish-white
in the centre, shading to a decided pink at their margin,
where they blend into the maroon. Their outline, however,
is sharp and decisive.
