DECORATIVE PLANT SEEDS Sow the seed in pots or boxes of light, well-drained soil; when the plants are large enough to handle, pot up into small pots and afterwards transfer to larger pots or plant out in the open ground, as desired. The plants throw up numerous leaves 6 to 7 feet long, and flower stems 8 to 10 feet high, each bearing a large thyrsus of deep scarlet flowers.
